The Museum "Literary life of the Urals XX century" in Ekaterinburg

City literary Museum,which is a part of the United Museum of the Urals writers. The Museum was opened in 1993 with the exhibition "Alexander Blok and culture of the Silver age". The Museum building is the architectural monument of Russian provincial wooden modernistic style. Patterned wooden tower with a high porch and delicate railing decorated with mysterious lace pattern on the roof, occupies a special place among the mansions of the XIX century in Literary quarter.

In 2011, to the 65 anniversary of the United Museum of the Urals writers opened the first part of the permanent exhibition "the Literary life of the Urals twentieth century", revealing the main stages of formation of the literature of the Urals in the period 1900-1945 years and was created virtual hall with permanent exhibitions in the Museum of the Ural fiction" and "the Museum of the Ural tales" which is extremely popular among visitors. The Museum is opened for all, here you can see the works of Ural writers, to meet with young authors, listen to songs, take part in presentations of new books, new works of artists.

Interesting fact: the Museum is located in a picturesque corner of the old Ekaterinburg, called the Literary quarter. The literary quarter - a unique phenomenon in Russia and one of the most interesting attractions of the Ural capital. One of the features of the quarter - sidewalks paved the ancient granite slabs that were going around the city and which, probably, remember the steps of the founders of Ekaterinburg.
