The Ekaterinburg city administration
The building of the city Council built in, 1928-1954 by the architects G. A. Golubev and M. V. Reisher. On the place of the city Administration building was the Gostiny Dvor, burned in 1902. The construction of a new failed because of the revolution. The unfinished part of Gostiny Dvor in 1926-1928 was built in the building og Business house, which nowadays adjacent to the Administration building facing the street of 8 Marta. In 1928-1930 was built the five-storey building of the city Council.
The first project of an administrative building - heavy and with too large Windows - did not escape the influence of the constructivist style. The authors of the project, architects Golubev and Reisher, were the followers of this style. Since 1944 the building of the city Council radically reconstructed: the facade is made by columns, ground part of the revetted with granite, on the perimeter of the roof is installed sculpture memorial plaques of M.D. Nowakowskiy, symbolizing representatives of labor professions. In 1954 under the project of Reisher tower with a spire and a clock chimes was built. In the end, the composition of the city Council has acquired a final form, characteristic of the style of Stalinist Neo Classic well-known, for example, on famous Moscow skyscrapers.
In the Soviet period the building was occupied by the city Committee of the KPSS and the city Council, and since 1991 it is the city Administration and the Ekaterinburg city Duma.
