Tavda Museum of timber and woodworking industry was opened for visitors on may 6, 1975. Initial status - folk Museum of local lore. In the Museum were presented the collection of everyday objects, documents, photographs history of Tavda district and personal complexes of residents collected in the 70-ies.

 

Tavda Museum is loved by the citizens. Annually it is visited at least 10-12 thousand people. The staff of the museum spend annually about 150 tours with various themes in the history of the region and its nature. In addition, the Museum has a permanent exhibitions, imported and generated from its own funds. Popular personal exhibition of creative works of local residents: artists, masters of wood carving, embroidery and gold threads on velvet etc.

 

The Museum hosts many events of educational character: a variety of games, quizzes, travel in the old days, in the world of nature and art, meeting with interesting people.

 

The main theme of the Museum exposition reflects the peculiarities of the natural and historical development of the town.

 

Collection of mosses, lichens, mushrooms, showcases with birds and animals - everything is designed so that even closer to acquaint visitors with the nature and wildlife of our region.

 

Interesting and various historical part of the exposition. Interesting ethnographic collection of Mansi. "First timber company in the beginning of XX century", "forestry Development after the great Patriotic war" - is the theme of the following sections of the exposition.

By bus № 1011 from the Northern bus station to Tavda, journey time-6 hours.

By train to Tavda. journey time-10 hours.

By car follow through Beloyarskiy-Bogdanovich-Kamishlov-Irbit-Turinsk.
