Young Theatre of Ekaterinburg
The Ekaterinburg young theatre is one of the oldest and most famous theatres for children and youth in Russia. It was founded in 1930. In the formation of primary troupe participated Moscow theatre for children (ed by Natalia Sats). In various years the theatre was headed by such famous Directors as Vladimir Motyl, Yuri Zhigulskiy, Dmitri Astrakhan, Vladimir Rubanov, George Tskhvirava, Anatoly Praudin, Vyacheslav Kokorin. On the stage of Ekaterinburg young treatre have found creative maturity many master of stage and screen which later became widely known - Elena Yunger, Oleg Gushchin, Boris Plotnikov, Galina Umileva etc. The troupe of the theatre is considered to be one of the best among provincial Russian theatres. Today in the troupe of Theatre there are 40 professional artists, three of them people's artist of Russia, 10 honoured artists and talented youth theatre.
The Ekaterinburg young theatre actively and successfully participates in the international festival of theatrical motion. The theatre performances were presented in international theatre festivals in Russia, Germany, France, Greece, Sweden, Poland, Bulgaria, Austria, Italy, Pakistan, China, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, the UK, Romania and others.
