The sign "Europe-Asia" in Kushva

Border sign of two continents of Europe and Asia in the hall in 28 km from the city of Kushva was created in the shape of a beautiful chapel, cast in iron.

The only monument of the XIX century on the territory of Goroblagodatskiy district, which almost intact preserved to our days, put in 1868. It's appearance was preceded by a voyage to Russia of Grand Knyaz Vladimir Alexandrovich Romanov.

On 2 August 1868 Vladimir Aleksandrovich arrived in Kushva. Within two days he visited Kushvinskiy plant and the legendary mount Blagodat. on August 3, Grand Knyaz went on Serebryanskiy tract in Kungur. During the travel was made one and a half an hour stop at the top of the Urals. In honor of this event the gold miners of Kushva and Northern Urals, on their own means set in thwtpalce the great cast turret-chapel collected by the cast parts. The project has developed by V.Arhipov, as made in the metal caster K. Romanov. Initially, the domes were gold plated, on the spire of the Central dome was strengthened cast double-headed eagle. Near the monument was gatehouse - shelter for travellers and pilgrims who went to worship the Holy relics of the righteous Simeon of Verkhoturye.

On the facade of the chapel cast the inscription: "In memory of the crossing over Ural of Their Imperial Majesty Grand Knyaz Vladimir Alexandrovich on 3 August 1868". On the opposite side: "From gold miners of the Middle Ural". During the civil war obelisk was destroyed, some of the detail is lost. In the 1970-ies by wokers of Nizhnyaya Salda's plant obelisk was restored.
