The Museum "Literary life of the Urals XIX century" in Ekaterinburg

As a permanent branch the Museum was opened on 21 June 1996 with the exposition "the Literary life of the Urals in the XIX century".

Permanent exposition acquaints with the lives and works of the Ural writers of this period A. V. Lotsmanova, I. I. Varakin, I. I. Zheleznov, K. D. Nasilov, A. A. Kirpishikova, A. G. Turkina, E. A. Slovotskaya-Kamskaya, P. I. Zayakina-Uralskiy, I.F. Kolotovkin, A. S. Sigov-Pogorelov, as well as literary and artistic periodicals of those years.

The exhibition reflected the materials, connected with the stay in the Urals famous Russian writers: B. N. Tatishchev, V. I. Dahl, A. S. Pushkin, V. A. Zhukovsky, A. N. Radishchev, P. P. Sumarokov, W. K. Kuchelbecker, N. G. Garin-Mikhailovsky, S. Ya. Elpatievsky.

The exposition creates an image of Ekaterinburg XIX century, with its rich spiritual life, the core of which was always literature. In the memorial interiors of the living room and dining room presents the materials telling about the creative intelligentsia of the city, the contemporaries A. N. Mamin-Sibiryak: the writer N. V. Kazantsev, the founder UOLE O. E. Clare, the photographer V. L. Metenkov, the artist S. I. Yakovlev, as well as about the theatrical and musical life of Ekaterinburg.

 

At the bottom oguest room of the Museum hosts temporary exhibitions.
