The house of Zheleznov
The house of Zheleznov, built in pseudo-Russian style, is one of the most interesting historical buildings in Ekaterinburg. Its unusual form, it resembles a Russian tower of red brick. Some parts building made of brick creates a semblance of wood carving. Another similar house you will not find anywhere else in Ekaterinburg!
In the composition of the manor complex consists of the main house with a guest house, a yard and a brick fence with a gate.It has a status of a monument of architecture of local importance.
The architect of the estate is the resident of Perm A.P.Turchevich
The customer was famous in the city Alexey Nikitich Kazantsev. He was a hereditary honorary citizen, a successful attorneys and active public figure of Ekaterinburg.

Alexey Anfinogenovich Zheleznov, the names of which have nicknamed for mansion, bought a house only in 1905 from the heirs of the deceased by the time Kazantsev. At that time the house was a vast park, extending down to the river Iset.
Alexey Zheleznov took part in the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878 year, for which he received an award for bravery. Later earned a decent capital, engaged in gold mining and trading in explosives (dynamite, gunpowder), was a merchant of the 2nd Guild. He never skimped and was known as a generous philanthropist.
Zheleznov was a full member of the Ural Society of natural Science Lovers (UOLE). He donated a large sum of money for UOLE and acquired archaeological finds from Shigirskoye peatland.
After the revolution the house was waiting for hard times. A lot of people lived there. At first it was chosen by the anarchists, then here have formed a military unit. After the civil war there was learning disabled children. In the war years in this house were evacuated from the capital astronomical Institute named after P.K. Sternberg (GAISH). In deep cellars of the building, five-foot brick walls, is chronometers of Service of exact time. From that place in the war years the whole country knew the exact time. The war ended and "stone house" again came under the control of public education.

Near the house miraculously preserved granite pavement of the XIX century. During the reconstruction they wanted to remove it, replacing modern pavement, but the employees of the Institute of History and Archaeology desited to save it. But the old oak parquet in the living room was removed and replaced with linoleum.
