The temple complex of the Novo-Tikhvin women's monastery in village Merkushino
In the village Merkushino are situated restored after the reconstruction of two magnificent temple, connected by a roofed gallery: Simeon and the Archangel Michael. Simeon Church (built in 1885) was built on the place where the tomb of St. Simeon was raised by underground spring. The altar is located directly above the tomb, which is a Holy spring. Simeon Church is a monument of regional significance. In the Archangel Michael Cathedral rest the remains of St. Constantine Epiphany. In addition, the village has preserved two-storey pre-revolutionary building rural municipality government and a hotels for pilgrims. On the way to the village Merkushino,on 12 km,situated the Church of All saints in the land of Siberian saints and memorable Worship cross, established in 1996 on the former place of the chapel in memory of the place where St. Simeon of Verkhotursk loved to fish. The path from the cross goes on the place, where according to legend, the saint man fished and indulged prayers to God.
How to get: by car on Serovskiy tract to Verkhoturye, then 50 kilometers to Merkushino.
By train to Verkhoturye, then by bus to the village Merkushino.
