School's archaeological Museum "Itkul archaeological culture of ancient metallurgists" in Polevskoy

The Museum was created by Polevskoy archaeological detachment of schoolchildren in eco-regional Department of CRDY.

School archaeological Museum was opened in may 1999. It was originally dedicated to Itkul archaeological culture, which existed on the Eastern slope of the Ural mountains in VII-III centuries BC, the era of the early iron age. At present time, the Museum is dedicated to archaeology Polevskoy region in whole.

Sections of the exhibit:

- the settling of the Urals and ancient manufactures;

- the monuments Itkul culture and ways of metallurgical production of our ancestors;

- hunting, fishing and Handicrafts;

- Polevskoy archaeological squad

Young archaeologists of Polevskoy archaeological Department take active part in research activities. In 1997-2014 years were performed over 80 projects on various issues of archaeology.

The expedition, with the participation of the archaeological team of school children, are held under the guidance of scientific centers of Ekaterinburg - Institute of History and Archaeology, Ural branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Ural Federal University.
